We had a great day on the boat on Sunday! Kerry did an appraisal for free for a friend of theirs who owns a boat rental company so they gave him a free boat rental as a thank you! We were out the door by 8:30, made a quick pit stop for donuts and sandwiches and were at the dock by 9:00!
Adrey and the girls (or as Adrey says "gairls"... I could listen to him say "girls", which comes out in a really southern tone, all day long) sat on the front of the boat (there's a 3 foot deck in front of Adrey) and he thought that was pretty cool. John had a death grip on him. I made sure his knuckles were white, and if they weren't he was instructed to grip tighter:-)
Charlie was not all about the boat at first. Rather, I don't think it was the boat, but maybe the life jacket. He was a little "eh-ee" at the beginning and he didn't want me to sit, but as long as I was standing up he was pretty cool.
(man oh man he looks EXACTLY like me as a baby in this next picture)
John spotted this Bald Eagle in the mangroves. Such a spectacular bird.
Thanks to my friend, Jack, I have this picture. When we saw the eagle, it was too late to turn around. Later that day, I was checking Facebook and my friend Jack posted this picture and said he saw it on the back waters on his way to Keywadin that day. Has to be the same bird!!
Adrey helped dock the boat.
With the exception of a short walk that we took, Charlie spent much of his time on the boat just crawling around exploring and snacking on goldfish.
And after about 30 minutes of doing that, he was whipped! He slept for the next hour! At one point the girls were sitting on the seat above him eating cake. I looked down at Charlie only to find he had cake droppings all over him! Too funny!
(not sure why this picture is rotated but I can't fix it for some reason)
Adrey rested his eyes for a few minutes on the way back too!
Adrey drove the boat for a little bit!
And when he was done being captain he allowed me to give him some yummy snuggles!
Such a great day. And with every mimosa I drank, I tried to convince John we should get our own boat. Yeah, that didn't work.
