Christmas Eve day was SUCH a nice day!! We started out our day just lounging around the house... until... about 10:30 when I remembered that the local fire department and Santa would be cruising our neighborhood as they do every Christmas Eve. I frantically jumped up and opened all the doors and windows in the house so that we were sure to hear the siren when it came by. I quick jumped in the shower and told John to keep an ear out for them. I took a speed shower, quick got dressed and it wasn't a second after that was all said and done that John came in and said it was coming!! I grabbed a plate of cookies (to share with the firefighters) and we raced out the door just in the nick of time!!
Adrey waving bye-bye to Santa...
After getting ready we headed out the door to Tommy Bahamas where we met up with LESA and her boyfriend, JOHN!! Lesa is one of my most favorite people on this planet! My BFF since middle school and I love her to PIECES! We got there before them and "pulled aside" and waited. John had gone to the bathroom and came back and said, "Did you parade Charlie around yet?" (because he was in his Santa suit and looked oh-so-stinkin-cute)... I laughed out loud and said NO! He said, "Well then I want to... I want everyone to see how cute he is!". I love a lot of things about John, but knowing how proud he is and how sappy he gets when it comes to his babes and the fact that he's doesn't try to hide it is one of my favorite of his characteristics. He's such a good daddy. Soooooo, John picked up Charlie and "paraded" around Tommy Bahamas.... and he got just what he wanted... "ooooohs and aaaaaahs" from every which way. It was so cute to watch!
And while Daddy and Adrey were parading around, Adrey and I did a little bonding...
Lesa and Santa!!!
John and Lesa... LOVE YOU GUYS!
And then Friday night we headed to church where Adrey and Charlie behaved like DREAMS!! After church it was back to our house where the whole family congregated for some homemade lasagna.
And then after dinner it was off to bed for the little ones.
Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney (or bookshelf) with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
Santa came. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow...
