Oh, how I LOVE the holidays. I don't really know what it is but everything about the days leading up to Christmas are so wonderful. I like the STRESS of Christmas shopping, designing a Christmas card, addressing and mailing them, the cookie baking, the wrapping... the whole bit. I found myself on Christmas morning, after the presents were opened and we were waiting for the next "round" at the Wayne's house, that it was about to be over and I was already feeling a bit sad. BUT, I'm past that now and now it's time to share all the fun we had! The Thursday before Christmas we saddled up and headed to the ZOO!
The day was sunny, crisp, cool.... perfection in every sense of the word.
Sarah had her girls and she also had our neighbor's two girls, I had the boys, and Jen had her two.
At one point Sarah was walking with 6 kids by herself... the looks she got from passers-by were hysterical! SUPER MOM!!
I'm loving this next picture of Adrey...
All of the kids were climbing this tree. Allison saw me and the camera and starting posing... and saying, "Leah, get me doing this. Now this. Now Leah take a picture of me like this." and the whole time she's being all model-like and "posey"... oh. my. hilarious! And after the kids climbed the tree, they found a huge coconut. They wanted to see if they could get it open to see if there was milk in it (don't you all remember doing that?!?! I do!). One of the kids threw the rock and it bounced back and lightly hit Katelyn in the leg. It didn't hurt her at all, but it left the most UNPLEASANT odor on her. It was AWFUL and she was so self conscious about it (I can't say that I blame her). Not sure if it was rotten milk or animal something-or-other, but whatever it was it was nasty.
It was quite interesting trying to get them all to sit at the same time, but we did it! And we got a GREAT shot of all the beauties!
And of course we had to get a crazy shot!
COUSINS!
This is the first of a four part series of posts so stay tuned!!
