Big Canoe

Well, we've pretty much been doing exactly what I said we'd be doing! A whole lotta nothing with a few low-key activities thrown in there! The "cabin" is absolutely gorgeous. And as I type this it dawned on me that I should have taken a picture of it and posted it. That will come on the next post. The house is 5 bedrooms, on three levels, with a nice outdoor deck with a hammock and grill. We spend a lot of time out there. Adrey loves to push his little trucks out there. The Ritcheys are all sleeping in one room! Mama, Daddy and Charlie in the bed and Adrey at the foot of the bed in the pack-n-play. It's really worked out well. Just outside our bedroom is a little room that overlooks the kitchen/family room which we've made into the diaper changing/breast pumping station!! LOL! We've been getting up in the mornings and going for long walks... the hills and heat are killer but makes me feel less guilty about the food I'm consuming! The below picture of Charlie and Gigi pretty much sums up our trip thus far...

Big Sigh.
I love that picture. I don't think Charlie has been put down since we've been on vacation! His love cup is certainly filled to the brim! Charlie's actually been fighting a virus since we've been here with a temperature as high as 100.9, but no other symptoms. He's been acting "himself" for the most part, just a little more sleepy. Hoping he turns a corner here soon and is back to his normal self. Mama wants her boys happy. When they're not happy, I'm not happy.

Gigi and all her grandkids...

Boppa and Charlie...

And the cousins have been having a heck of a time playing with each other. Adrey thinks that Katelyn hung the moon and he LOVES being with her. Allison on the other hand is a different story. Although he loves Allison, they're more on the level of brother and sister and they tend to squabble! If Adrey has a toy and sees Allison coming, he will run to the closest adult and pass off the toy to them so that Allison can't have it!! And rightly so, because as sweet as Allison is, she does tend to snag whatever Adrey has in his hands!!

Mama and her boys resting on the hammock!

Seeeeeestors!!

Awwww, I wuv you Mama and Sarah!
Aunt Judee has taken full advantage of her time with her nephews and has been loving on them like they're her own and I love that. It makes me feel so good to see that. I just wish they lived closer.

Each night someone different makes dinner. It's been fun! This was just after grace and just before eating dinner!

And of course a crazy shot...

On Monday we set out for a hike but it didn't last long. Sarah got attacked by a bee and then the path we were on which we thought led to a waterfall, actually DIDN'T lead to a waterfall, so we turned around and headed to a park where we had a picnic lunch.

On Tuesday we headed to Blue Ridge, Georgia where we visited dear friends of our family, John and Sue Soave, and the beautiful farm they've created and named "Charlie Creek Farm".

There were donkeys, goats, chickens, pigs, dogs and cats. Adrey really enjoyed it!!

Sue and Adrey feeding John Henry...

Allison and her BFF, Cooper, the dog!

Adrey and Allison feeding the goats. The goats were my favorite. The black goat is named Billy Joel, and strangely enough, it resembles Billy Joel himself!

Miss Piggy rolling in the mud!

Awwww, I love this picture of my little man.

Oh, and this next one will soon find a frame and I will find the perfect space for it. Our little bunch of blue eyes....

We even got to ride the 4-wheelers! FUN!!

The hosts... John, Maddy, Sue and Cooper!

Was such a fun day!!
Tonight we're renting a boat and going out on the lake! More pictures to come!
