Wagons and Goodbye Boat Party

Well, Adrey had his ONE YEAR doctor appointment yesterday!! He weighs 23 1/2 pounds and is 31.5 inches "long" (soon to be "tall":-). I can't believe how big our little monkey buns is!! He's 90th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight... long and lean!! He was SO active the entire visit. Wouldn't let us hold him... he insisted on digging through the bin of toys and zooming the car around the floor... in just his diaper!! SO CUTE. The doctor said he's doing great!!
Oh... and the wagon? Yes, that was Adrey's gift from Gigi, Boppa and Nana for his birthday! He loves it!!
Well, Tuesday night was a VERY SPECIAL night and one that's been creeping up on me for sometime. I guess I thought the day would never come. But it did. My business parter/mentor/friend of 8+ years is retiring. We threw a going away party for her on the Naples Princess. It was a beautiful, emotional, perfect evening to pay tribute to the amazing person that Marlene is. Marlene is moving to Utah, where she's from originally and where she has owned a second home for years, and will spend more time with family and do fun, outdoorsy things that she didn't allow herself time to do when she was working. For years she's been telling us about the moose that lives her yard in Utah. We went and visited her for a week and never saw the moose (we did see moose, but not "her" moose!). We're always talking "moose" with Marlene so it only made sense to have her cake the moose theme.... (it says "We'll Moose You" in case it's hard to read)
My assistant, Kathy, decorated the boat beautifully.
It was so elegant and classy.
Just like Marlene.
And here's my amazing team, who are like family to me...
Kathy, Marlene and me.

I've chosen another associate, Ray, to continue the business with me.
Ray's in the back, far right.

Marlene and her husband, John.

THE WHOLE GANG!!

And I didn't do a crazy shot? I DID think about it, but thought since it was a work bunch that maybe it wasn't entirely appropriate! The sunset was very pretty.

These are the agents just from my office. A great group of peeps.

And the evening's honoree, Marlene....

I don’t think I can justly put into words the impact that Marlene has had on my life. Everyday she teaches me something new completely unaware that she’s even doing so. I have been like a sponge around her trying to absorb all the goodness she has to offer. Marlene has been a mentor to me in every way… teaching me the ins and outs of real estate, the graciousness with which to handle sticky situations, the importance of preparedness and the virtues of patience and perseverance. She is the most well-spoken person I know and she is the epitome of positive, enthusiastic, smart, kind, caring, classy and FUNNY. Oh, Marlene is one of the funniest people I have ever met and she doesn’t even try. She’s a natural! When Marlene speaks to someone, she has the amazing ability to make that person, at that moment, feel so special. She also has the most genuine of hugs… anyone that’s ever received a hug from Marlene knows what I mean.

I will miss seeing your smiling face everyday at the office and will certainly miss hearing all of your silly sayings and metaphors of which you have one for every situation.

I have the utmost respect for you, Marlene, and will forever be grateful to you for all that you’ve done for me career wise and personally. Thank you for bestowing upon me real estate expertise and for affording me the opportunity to advance my career by following in your footsteps. Because of you I am a better person. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for simply being you. I will forever treasure our friendship, Marlene. I will never be able to fill your shoes, but will do everything in my power to make you proud.
