I can't look at this picture without smiling from ear to ear. Can you?
The Ritcheys went to a fire truck parade at Mercato last Friday (I think the term HUGE HIT might be an understatement... Adrey loved it. Until the man dressed as a Dalmatian started sniffing Adrey... things slowly started to go downhill from that point on. Even John and I were a little freaked out by him!) and after the parade we stopped by the Wayne's house to say hello. When we got there, Allison was just getting in the bath tub and Adrey wanted to join her. We hadn't planned on a bath there so we didn't have any jammy jam-jams to put on him. Sooooooo, after his bath, he created a musical masterpiece with Uncle Kerry on the piano, in his birthday suit!! Nothing wrong with that, right?!?! Too cute for words!
I know I've said many times before that Adrey is such a good big brother, but I have to say it again. Adrey really does love Charlie. He tries to make him laugh and he's always looking at him just trying to figure him out. It's really quite cute. With all that said though, Adrey does NOT like for any part of Charlie to touch him. And if Charlie accidentally rubs against Adrey, Adrey will say, "No Charlie" in a very firm voice!! I was blow drying my hair the other day and looked over to see Adrey climbing in the bed with Charlie. I can't believe I had time to grab the camera.
Our house has been germ central lately. I swear we can't seem to get everyone healthy all at once. First Charlie had a cold, then Adrey got a cold, then John got a cold, then everyone SEEMED to be getting better, only to find out Charlie got croup, then Adrey got a viral infection which started out as a fever and ended up as a skin rash (that's gone) and now Adrey has croup. It's AWFUL. John was out of town last night so Adrey slept with me. Adrey had a 102 fever and was coughing (bark-like cough), wheezing and vomiting (I had to change our king bed sheets TWICE during the night). At about 3:00 a.m. I was so worried I was contemplating taking him to the ER... hearing him breathe so loudly and deliberately was totally freaking me out. And he kept moaning, "Mama. Mama. Mama." Oh just shoot me, I felt so terrible for him. Seeing your child so uncomfortable and sad is absolutely heart-wrenching. I would have traded places with him in a heart beat if I could have. I couldn't WAIT for morning to get here. We went to the doctor at 10:00 and they gave him a steroid shot to decrease the swelling in his vocal cords and prescribed him medicine to reduce the cough. Hopefully he'll be back to new in no time. Now if we can just keep Charlie from getting it all over again. UGH. I can't believe I haven't gotten sick (knocking on every single piece of wood in the entire house... and all of my neighbor's houses too). This was Adrey last night in our bed. Poor wittle guy.
Please send good energy and healing vibes our way so that Adrey will get better VERY soon! As much as I'm enjoying all the extra cuddles that go along with a sick toddler, I want our Adrey back!
