Disney Marathon Weekend - Take 2

Ok, first of all, you need to go back and look at my last post... I added a couple pictures that I forgot to add the first time.  Pictures that were taken in a photo "booth" type set-up at the ESPN Center where Kerry had to go to get all of his goodies for the race.  H-Y-S-T-E-R-I-C-A-L picture of John pretending to run.  O.M.G. he looks so funny and his shirt is untucked and I swear he looks 20 pounds heavier than he is.  Oh. my. so. funny!!

Anyhoo, on to Day 2 (MARATHON DAY) of our Disney trip.  Kerry was out the door by like 3:15.a.m.  The Ritchey's "slept in" until about 6:30 and then got our acts together to meet Kerry at the finish line.  At about 5:30 a.m. I heard fireworks from our hotel room.  I could also hear a woman screaming into a microphone, cheering people on.  It dawned on me that it was the beginning of the marathon I was hearing.... all the way from EPCOT!!  They set off fireworks for each "round" of runners that "took off".  It was really inspiring to hear... as I lay in bed with the covers up to my chin snuggled up next to an infant.

At 7:01 a.m. John's phone chirped and this is what his text message read....

Yes, we got "play-by-play" updates as to Kerry's where abouts in the race and his pace and time.  SO. COOL!  And yes, you read that right... Kerry kept a 8.5 minute/mile pace.
SO UNBELIEVABLY IMPRESSIVE.
Kerry finished the race in 3 hours and 48 minutes.  That's 26.2 miles in 3 hours 48 minutes.  WAY TO GO, KERRY!!  It was so emotional seeing all of these people cross the finish line.  What an accomplishment for them all.

Great job, Kerry.  So happy for you and proud of you.
After the race we headed to ANIMAL KINGDOM!!!

Our last ride of the day was the "Safari".  It was a truck that drove through a "safari" where there were beautiful animals to see.

Ok, so I know this next picture is blurry, but I need for you to have the mental picture in your head.  So check it out...

When we first got on the truck, we all sat down and Adrey peered over the side and then started yelling "Paci, paci, paci".  He had leaned over the side and his pacifier fell out of his mouth.  It was "gone".  I kept telling him "It's ok, honey.  We have another one at the hotel.  We have to just move on, Adrey, because there's nothing we can do about it now.  It's gone."  The ride continued on and Adrey just kept resting his head on the side of the truck... I thought he was just getting tired after a long day and the fact he was sad about the loss of his "paci".  It was about 5 minutes into the ride that he looked at me, then pointed down over the side of the truck and started pleading, "Paci, mommy, RIGHT THERE.  Paci, mommy, RIGHT THERE."  I peered over the side of the truck and sure enough, his paci landed on a small landing on the side of the truck and he could see it the whole time.  Here I thought he was tired but really he was STARING at, LONGING for, his paci!!  Oh. My. Cuteness.

Such a great day!  One more day to share.  Hope to post again tomorrow!
