Charlie's 6 month check up and so much more...

Well, our little peanut had his 6 month check-up on Friday, January 14th, and he got an A+.  Our littlest blessing is a whopping 16 pounds, 12 ounces (25th percentile) and 27 inches long (55th percentile).  I've been curious how Charlie compares in size to when Adrey was his age... so I went and checked Adrey's 6 month blog post (click link) and Adrey at the same time was weighing 19 pounds (75th percentile) and was 28 inches long (90th percentile).  So Charlie is trailing a little behind his big brother in terms of size, but he'll catch up soon enough!!

So, as mentioned, his doctor's appointment went swimmingly well.  But yesterday morning at 5:30 I heard Charlie whimpering in his crib and sooner than later he began coughing... but it wasn't just a cough, it sounded like he was barking.  It was awful.  I called the doctor first thing and got him right in and wouldn't you know it, he has CROUP.  Ugh.  Poor thing.  As if the two shots he got on Friday wasn't enough, he had to get a steroid shot yesterday to help with the inflammation of his vocal cords and reduce the coughing.  Poor sweet baby.

Fortunately he's still got a good "sense of humor" and is a happy baby.

And all these next photos are just randoms that I've taken with my cell phone that I've been meaning to post.  Adrey pulled my hair elastic out of my hair and wanted it in his.  So mama obliged...

Last week Adrey FELL ASLEEP IN HIS HIGH CHAIR before dinner was even served!  I can't tell you how many times I've seen America's Funniest Home Videos with videos of kids falling asleep in their high chairs and I've always wondered how in the world that was possible.  I now see.  After I put Adrey to bed I checked the daily notes from the teacher in his back pack and her comment was "Adrey did not have a nap today.  Not rested at all."  Aaaaaaaaaaand there you have it.

We have a new indoor playground in town here and Adrey L-O-V-E-S it.  I mean LOVES it!  We could stay there all day and he wouldn't get bored.  Unfortunately they start charging for children ages 4 months and older.  This irritates me to no end... for crying out loud Charlie can't even SIT UP and they want $8 for him.  It's infuriating, not to mention complete robbery.  As much as I'd like to say we'll never go back (because I don't agree with their policy), we will because Adrey has so much fun there... I mean they have a bounce house... how could we NOT return...

And Saturday night John and I got out as a COUPLE with other ADULT COUPLES (and we drank adult drinks) and had SUCH A GREAT TIME!!
