MOVE... THAT... BUS!!!

Two posts in two days! I'm on a roll here people! It's just like Extreme Makeover here at the Ritchey household.... except we don't have the before pictures and we don't have that cute host and the annoying blond and we don't have the crowd of people standing outside welcoming us back, nor do we have a big bus to move out of the way to reveal our new home... see JUST LIKE Extreme Makeover!! But our house is done (and it has been for about a month but I haven't had the chance to post pics) and it's time for the big reveal.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!

OUR NEW KITCHEN!!

All new cabinets and granite counter tops!

And I added some new accessories to the top here. I'm totally LOVING the hanging mosaic lantern thingies. Yes, loving those. And I labored for HOURS (well maybe not hours, but quite a while) to polish my Grandpa's silver trumpet. It's nearly 100 years old!

And a couple new pillows for our couch.

And these are the new porcelain tiles we had put down throughout the home. Decided against doing the hardwood again, only to have the dogs ruin it. Oh, and our new Target rug which I also LOVE. Looks like it could be from Anthropology, doesn't it?

And our new outside bench. On sale at Pier One.

I love Pier One.
And I think the commission-earning sales lady at Pier One likes me now!!
Funny story to share too... Last week I paid about 20 bills that had been piling up and I was feverishly trying to get them paid before the boys woke up. On Tuesday I got a call from one of the company's whose bill I paid/mailed. She called me and said, "Hi we received your bill today and it's fine, but there was a big clump of hair in the envelope." There was dead silence on the phone on both ends... I was scratching my head wondering what in the world this lady was talking about. After the big, pregnant pause, she said, "Like it almost looks like a first baby's haircut or something" and she laughed. I then rewound my brain and thought back to when I was paying the bills, and I remember grabbing a white envelope that was folded in three and using it to pay a bill. It wasn't with all the rest of the envelopes but I didn't think twice about it. Yup... it was the envelope containing Adrey's first haircut! O.M.G. I have completely lost my mind!! I started laughing hysterically when I realized what I had done and I kept repeating over over how we have a newborn and I'm somewhat sleep deprived! Even if that's not why, and it's just because I'm slowly losing my mind, I at least wanted her to think that! She must be a mom herself to have picked up the phone and called me. I'm so appreciative and it made for a good laugh!!

Two things....love the extended countertop over the dog bowls, clever idea, and two, I am very jealous of your bird bench. I've been eyeing that sucker with the matching table for months! Gotta take my kid to Disney.....give and take, give and take.
