So much to share!! I love it! Grab your popcorn and a soda cuz this post is a long one!! Saturday was Adrey's first swim lesson! We packed up, as a family, and headed to the water park where Adrey participated in an organized (well, if that's what you want to call it) swim class! It started out pretty well, but about 10 minutes into it, Adrey was not interested in participating. He spent much of the rest of the class upset and/or trying to escape the pool!! Not sure what it was... if it was all the people, or if the pool was cold, or if it's just because he's TWO, but he wasn't having it!! LOL!
Saturday night Adrey spent a few hours with his cousins and a babysitter so that Mommy and Daddy could go to dinner to celebrate Gigi and Boppa's 40th wedding anniversary. Yes, you read right... 40 years married! We had such a nice evening!
(photos taken from cell phone so they aren't that great)
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad. Thank you for setting such a wonderful example of love and devotion. Sure, I realize not all 40 years were bliss, and there were some peaks and valleys, but you made it work and you created two beautiful, smart, funny and loving daughters as a result (hee hee hee). I love you with all my heart.
And now on to my peanuts... one of which is in my arms right now asleep, in turn resulting in MY left arm being completely asleep and tingling, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And about 3 hours ago, my larger munchkin fell asleep in my arms too resulting in a dripping wet, SWEATY arm, but again, I wouldn't have it any other way! Charlie had his one week appointment last Thursday and he weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, which is a little less than I was hoping for. Charlie has been vomiting a lot after feeding. We talked at length about it with the doctor and the moral of the story is... I was a cow in a former life. My milk production is off the charts and Charlie just can't keep up with the flow resulting in him vomiting. It's crazy. Seriously, while he's eating, there's milk streaming down his cheeks and dripping on to my stomach. Crazy. My breasts are producing so much milk that they THROB. I have pumped 65+ ounces of milk (not including what Charlie is getting) in less than a week. Not kidding people. I pump twice a day. Speaking of pumping... Adrey likes to DANCE to the beat of the breast pump... as I'm pumping, Adrey will be standing next to me dancing up and down in sync with the pump! LOL!
And yesterday Charlie was circumcised. It was an event I was not looking forward to, but it went as smoothly as can be expected. And the BEST part of the doctor's visit you ask? Charlie was weighed and he was 7 pounds, 10 ounces!! He gained a half a pound in 4 days!! Yippeeeee!! Even with all the throwing up he's done, he's managed to keep some down! I was thrilled!! After the circumcision, they brought Charlie back in the room and he was screaming bloody murder. The nurse handed him to me and said, "I think he's hungry, so why don't you feed him and I'll be back in a few minutes to go over everything with you." She left the room and I stood there thinking to myself, "He's not hungry, you just cut off part of his penis lady!" So I just cuddled and soothed my little one until he quieted down, bless his heart. Poor thing. He wasn't himself for a good part of the rest of the day, but he woke up feeling just fine and doesn't seem to be bothered a bit by it now.
Not sure if you can read the onesie below, but it's a picture of bread and it says "Freshly Baked".
On to my little monkey now.... We went to the mall playground on Sunday and our little guy sprained his ankle. It's a completely padded area, top-to-bottom... you wouldn't think a child could get injured, but he did. He fell off the alligator (which stands 6 inches off the ground) and twisted his ankle. The poor thing couldn't walk on it at all. We took him to the Urgent Care where they took a couple X-Rays and determined it wasn't a fracture. We were relieved of that, but still hated to see him in pain. He would not put ANY pressure on his wittle foot. If we set him down, he would raise his left leg and then put his arms up for us to pick him up. Bless his heart. He's doing much better today though and is walking around with a limp. He's very careful of his leg, knowing it's hurt, and is "babying" his foot. He should be back to new in no time!
Can Adrey get ANY closer to the TV in this picture? He's such a crack up!
Tonight Mama needed a little one-on-one with Adrey. I can see how much Adrey has latched on to John since the arrival of Charlie, and I guess that's to be expected since I have to devote a lot of time to feeding the baby. But for Adrey to want John all the time DOES make me a little saddies. And jealous. So tonight, very spontaniously, I asked Adrey if he wanted to go get a cupcake with Mommy. The smile from ear-to-ear lead me to believe he was up to the challenge! So, we jumped in the car and headed to the cupcake shop just around the corner. He got a mini vanilla cupcake and sat on my lap and ate every last bit of it. I didn't get a cupcake, but I ate up every last bit of Adrey. Afterwards we just walked around the plaza and played peek-a-boo behind the pillars. It was time we BOTH needed and I'm glad we did it. We'll be doing lots more of Mommy/Adrey things here to come as I see how important it is for BOTH of us. Learning as we go....
Night. Night. At least for a couple hours....

How proud !! Love these.
The picture of Adrey holding Charlie is priceless. I also love it because Charlie looks like a mini-me of Adrey...You have two beautiful boys! Oh...Devin not only danced to the sound of the pump but he'd walk around the house holding the cups up to his chest and/or stomach! Hilarious!
