Adrey officially moved into his "Big Brother Room" on March 21st, but we had a few finishing touches to add before we could have the official unveiling. Adrey moved into his new room with such ease. He loves it!! I thought for sure we'd be up several times in the night the first night, just because the space was unfamiliar, but he handled it like a champ and nestled right into the southwest corner of his crib (I told John we should have just bought that portion of the mattress because the rest of it just goes to waste) and snoozed all night! Didn't make a peep!
Well, this morning we were able to add the final finishes... and Adrey was right there to lend a helping hand. He LOVES the step ladder. He sees it and almost starts hyperventilating he gets so excited! He loves to climb up it and "help" with whatever we're doing. This morning was no exception. Oh, and I must tell why he's wearing "girl" pajamas... last night John and I went to dinner with friends and Adrey spent a couple hours with his cousins and Aunt Sarah. I didn't pack pajamas because I knew we'd be home by 8:30, but Adrey had a bath with his cousins and then Aunt Sarah put him in Allison's jammies since he didn't have any there! I think he looks pretty good in purple with polka dots!! LOL!! He's quite in touch with his feminine side!! Oh, and check out his new do... yup got his third haircut on Friday...
I'm feeling uncomfortably large these days. Everyday things aren't as easy to do these days now that our lovely "Sequel" is over 3 pounds and 17 inches long (just based on the pregnancy book I'm reading). "She" is kicking up a storm! I say "she" because I feel quite certain our sequel is going to be wearing pink and not blue! I feel like there's a hamster wheel in my belly and the baby is just doing laps!
Last night I had a major meltdown. Feeling inadequate, physically, as a mommy these days. I feel like I am unable to give Adrey all that he wants/needs right now because I'm physically uncomfortable. Feeling guilty that in just a couple short months Adrey will have to share the attention of Mommy and Daddy that he's had exclusively for almost 2 years. We are so excited to meet the new baby and love on him/her just like we do Adrey. It is such a blessing. I know that having a brother/sister will be something he will treasure as he gets older, but the beginning will be hard for him to understand and that makes me just so sad. But I know it will pass and he will have a friend for life. I hope he shares with his sibling what I have with my sister. There is somthing so special and sacred about the friendship of a sibling. Knowing someone is always there to listen, laugh, love.
Feeling more and more overwhelmingly in love with Adrey these days. His little personality just shining through more and more each day. I still find myself looking at him, watching him soak up all that's around him, and can't believe he's part of me. Something John and I created.
And to think in two short months "we" will be four.
Life is wonderful. Life is beautiful.
