What a weekend we had in Disney. I LOVE Disney World and I love the fact that we can go all the time we're so close. We split the drive up because John had an early morning meeting in Sarasota on Friday so we spent the night in Sarasota on Thursday. While John was in his meeting, the boys and I went out for breakfast and walked around a little outdoor shopping plaza to kill some time. We sought out some Thomas the Train underpants because I forgot to pack Adrey underwear. So he went shopping commando until we could get back to the room to put them on! Around 11:00, we had our bags packed and were waiting by the door for John to come back so we could leave for Disney. Adrey kept saying, "When Daddy gets back, we go to Disney? See Mickey Mouse? And Donald Guck? And Goofy? And Pwuto?"
It was only a two hour drive from Sarasota. We decided John would drop me and the boys off at Animal Kingdom so we could meet the Waynes and he would go back to the hotel and unpack the car and get checked in (such a good little husband). We were literally pulling into the Animal Kingdom parking lot when all of a sudden I heard Charlie vomiting. Like a lot. I jumped in the back seat only to find him covered in it and it was still coming. Bless his heart. It was the kind of situation you just have to sit back for a second and really think what the next step is going to be. I didn't know where to start! We managed to get him out of the seat and clean him up and change his clothes. He was acting completely normal, thankfully, so we kept our original plan. From the parking lot I walked the boys in the double stroller to the tram. As I'm walking to the tram, I started wondering how in the world I was going to manage both boys AND get the stupid stroller on the tram. BUT, I managed. And we were on our way....
Goofball!
We spent the afternoon at Animal Kingdom and then headed to EPCOT for the evening. And we had a surprise visit from a very dear friend or ours, Ryan Soave. Haven't seen him in two years and he surprised us and met us at EPCOT. SO MUCH FUN!!
And while the big kids (Kerry, John, Ryan and KK) went on a fast ride the rest of us took a little break:-)
And someone discovered their shadow.
Saturday we headed to Hollywood Studios. And the first thing we came upon after getting off the bus was Lightening McQueen and Mader! I think Adrey thought he had died and gone to heaven when he realized what the bushes were!
And Adrey morphed into Spiderman shortly after we entered the gates!
Cutest Spiderman I've ever seen. People would stop him and comment on him being Spiderman and he ATE THAT UP completely. Smile from ear to ear!!
And Allison had a beautiful design created on her face too!
Love these next pictures of the three of them. I love how none of them are looking at the camera and that Charlie has a "front wedgie". We went to a show and Adrey and Allison thoroughly enjoyed it. Adrey would do everything Allison did. It was so cute. You can watch it HERE.
And we ran into the REAL Lightening McQueen and Mader later on in the day!
Sunday we went to Magic Kingdom. John and Adrey drove the cars!
Such a fun weekend! On our way home Adrey was coughing and I told John I thought it sounded like the beginning of croup. Ugh. And the closer we got to home the more I was convinced of it. We got home about 6:15, had baths and dinner and by 7:00 Adrey was sound asleep on the couch. Out like a light. At 10:00pm he woke up coughing and I went in to check on him and could here him wheezing. Bad. I picked him up and brought him in our bed so I could monitor him. After about 10 minutes, Adrey started to get nervous because he was having a hard time breathing and he started panicking. He was crying and calling "Mama" and had such fear on his face. I quick called the on call doctor and they said to take him to the ER. So I did. By the time we got there his wheezing had subsided but he was still coughing. He got a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia and got a steroid shot in his leg to reduce the inflammation in his trachea. We were there for less than two hours, but Adrey must have said 45 times while we were there, "Mama, I wanna go home now."
When we got out to the car I was strapping Adrey in and he started to telling me the events of the evening as they occurred. He said,
"Mama, we see a doctor. (the first nurse who came in)
We see anodder doctor. (the actual doctor)
Take picture. (the x-ray of his chest)
I get shot.
They give me stickers (Buzz Lightyear and Woody if you wanna get technical)
You write your name. (I signed the discharge papers)
They cut thing of my arm. (the hospital bracelet)
And we go HOME!"
CUTEST. THING. EVER.
As much as I hated him not feeling well and would have given anything for him to feel better, I DID enjoy the Adrey and Mommy time we had laying on the hospital bed together shootin' the breeze. I love that kid like there's no tomorrow.
