Shucart Wedding!!

Wow, what a couple of weeks.  The passing of Cheetoe was inevitable but the timing of it was probably a good thing.  Cheetoe passed away on Tuesday night, and Rochelle and Chris's fun-filled week of pre-nuptual festivities started on Thursday so I had lots to keep me busy.  Before I touch on the wonderful week, just thought I'd share a cute story.  On Wednesday morning when I woke up, after getting hardly any sleep and my face a painful puffy mess from all the crying the night before, I was miserably sad.  I got up and was trying to go about my day like nothing was wrong.  I was feeding Charlie and I overheard John telling Adrey about Cheetoe.  I lost it.  A complete sobbing mess at the kitchen table.  Adrey walked out and saw me and put his hand on my knee and said, "Take a deep breath, Mama" and then gave me the biggest hug.  Which made me cry even more.  He was so sensitive and it was the sweetest. thing. ever.

Anyhoo, on to cheerful topics!!  Rochelle and Chris's wedding was the 8th, and there were events Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  So instead of having to get a second mortgage on the home for a sitter for all these events, we asked John's sister if she would come down from Michigan for a few days to watch the boys.  And Aunt Judee graciously agreed to do so.  We were counting down the days for Aunt Judee to arrive.  And Adrey even made a sign to welcome Judee at the airport.

And we waited patiently for all the passengers to deboard, awaiting that familiar face we love to see.  And when we saw her I swear there was a little twinkle in both Adrey and Judee's eyes when they saw each other.  OH, and you can see that reunion yourself right HERE.

Wednesday night was a relaxing night at home before the real festivities began.  Thursday morning we were up bright and early.  The boys were off to school so that Judee and I could get some errands run.  We had SUCH a great day together.  We even had a cocktail at lunch which felt SO weird to be doing in the middle of the work week.

(This is now the picture that comes up on my phone when you call me, Judee:-)

Thursday night was the kick off to the pre-wedding fun!  Rochelle and Chris had a meet and greet at The Pub at Mercato.  It was a lot of fun!  Friday morning we were out the door, bright and early once again, and off for pedicures (compliments of Rochelle) with all of the bridesmaids!

These lovely bridesmaids may have had a wee bit too much fun at the meet and greet... they were paying for it that morning!

After pedis, we headed to Rochelle's house for a wardrobe change and then headed to the Grey Oaks Country Club for a special bridesmaids luncheon.  It was so nice, everything so beautifully decorated.

Rochelle prepared a beautiful speech and read it out loud to everyone.  She singled out each bridesmaid and told everyone what each of us meant to her.  It was so touching.  Rochelle, you are such an amazing person.

All of the bridesmaids at the luncheon.

After the luncheon I headed back to school to pick up the boys.  It was just a LITTLE awkward walking in with a strapless dress on and pumps.  Felt like a hoochy mama fo' sho'!!  Then it was home for another wardrobe change and off to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

Saturday morning the gunshot was heard and we were OFF once again!  We headed to the Ritz late morning and were whisked (not really, but that's fun to say) in to have our hair and make up done.

Although the ceremony was, last minute, held inside due to bad weather, it was truly perfect in every sense of the word.  The pastor had beautiful things to say and Rochelle and Chris were beaming with happiness.  It was a sight to see for sure.  I felt so honored to be standing aside all of these other wonderful women to pay tribute to the amazing couple standing in front of us.  Being I was IN the wedding I have hardly ANY pictures of the big day.  This next one was taken by her photographer, Michelle Reed.  Hopefully I'll have more to come at a later date because the bride (and groom) was STUNNING and I want everyone to see!!

Rochelle, you were breathtakingly beautiful.

You are a class act and your wedding was symbolic of that.   Everything was so perfectly thought out, not a detail missed.  You and Chris are so deserving of one another.  I am blessed to know you both.  I love you guys with all my heart.  Thank you for a wonderful wedding weekend.
