Well, Adrey is wearing big boy underpants and they suit him well. We have the occasional accident, but overall he's doing an amazing job transitioning from diaper to toilet!! I can't get over how quickly he caught on. By day two Adrey was, without solicitation, telling me he had to go potty and would run to the bathroom! Yipeeee!! One time Adrey said, "Mama, I got to go potty" so I said "Ok, GO!" (meaning go to the bathroom) and Adrey repeated back to me, "Go?" because he thought I meant go potty, like right there on the floor, and I think he was just double checking because it didn't sound just right! I quickly corrected myself and said, "Go run, run, run to the bathroom!". Too funny. Seeing him in "Incredibles" and "Toy Story" underpants cracks me up it's so cute. I feel like this week in particular, there have been so many things Adrey's doing that makes me feel like he's growing up right before my eyes. Sniff. Sniff.
I took Adrey, Charlie and both the girls to the movies today. Adrey wore underpants there... our first real outing since he started potty training. I wasn't sure if he'd make it or not but figured there had to be a "first" at some point. Well, twice during the movie, without solicitation, he asked to go potty. So we did. And he faired like a champ! When we were walking back into the theater after going potty, I had an "emotional surge" come over me and I felt so proud. So proud of my baby boy that's growing up so quickly.
Adrey is saying so many funny things lately and I must ask him to repeat himself 100 times a day... not because I can't hear him, but because he says the funniest things in the cutest voice and I just can't get enough of it. Lately if Adrey asks me a question and I don't answer right away, he answers for me and then responds to it again himself. For example:
Adrey: Hey Mama, wanna build a tower?
(No immediate response from me)
Adrey: Yes? Ok.
H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S.
A few other notable sayings I often ask be repeated:
Look at that bug Adrey.... "That's amazing"
Adrey look at that cool truck... "Woooooow" (long and drawn out)
Adrey, wanna watch a movie?.... "That sounds like fun"
"I have an idea"
Oh, your blocks fell... "oopa dayze" (Oopsie daisy)
Adrey can you hand me the brush please... "That's really weird" (yeah, he doesn't quite know when to use the word weird... which makes it that much cuter!)
I wish I had to time to write down all the cute stuff he says when he says it, but there's just not enough time in the day. He's constantly blowing me away with all the things he says. I often repeat what he says in my head to see if it sounds like something I say! To see if he's getting it from me!
Forts are the latest and greatest thing in our household. Adrey lives for forts. Our latest forts have included our blow up pool in the middle of our foyer.
Sunday we filled the baby pool up, got out the sprinkler and had some fun in the yard... this was just after Adrey had his morning weight-lifting workout (kidding, but doesn't it look like he works out?!?! Such a little muscle man.)
We did that until the gnats bugged us so much we couldn't stand it (see picture below) and then we headed to the real pool, where fortunately the gnats aren't a bother.
Charlie hadn't been in the pool for 5 minutes before his eyelids got very heavy. He just couldn't hack it anymore.
These next pictures are from the swim lessons that Adrey is taking. He's had three so far and he's doing "swimmingly" well! The teacher is strict and really pushes him. Adrey loves the water so I think he'll be swimming completely on his own in no time!
Check out his progress in the video below.

I love watching your video of Adrey swimming. He's swimming like a pro! I love how you "direct" John, I do that to Brian all of the time..and I'm sure he wants to kill me. But he says he likes the direction.
