We hit the beach on Sunday and had SUCH a great time! The weather was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. (wow, that took coordination) and the kids had a ball! I don't think ONE tear was shed by ANYONE! The Waynes brought their big tent where we set up camp.
Adrey LOVES to smile for the camera these days. All you have to do is say "SMILE" and he gives one of these BIG, FAT, MAMA-
LOVIN' GRINS!!! And I'm soaking it up now because I know there will come a time when I have to SNEAK to take a picture
cuz he won't want his picture taken.

Seriously? Seriously. The cuteness factor is off the charts...

Allison had just stepped on a shell just before I took this and she was none-to-pleased with me for snapping a picture.

Brotherly love...
Adrey can't get enough of Daddy these days. Seriously, Mama is second fiddle when Daddy's around. I can barely get him to acknowledge me when John is around. He wants to do EVERYTHING Daddy does. It's really very cute. I know he's TWO and that he does love me very much, but I can't say that it doesn't make me a little jealous!

I was using my little point-and-shoot camera so the pictures aren't great.

And the salty air and warm breeze put this little peanut asleep in Mama's arms!
Yummy!
Adrey is talking up a STORM these days and repeating
EVERYTHING we say! It hasn't been till the last couple weeks or so that we really have to watch what we say! It is SO cute to finally hear WORDS come out of that sweet little mouth. Although, on Saturday we drove to Venice to meet one of John's work friends for dinner and the entire car ride up there (1.5 hours) all he said was "mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama" Completely monotone. At times he was watching a movie and not even realizing he was saying it. "mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama" Not kidding. It was like someone grabbing one strand of your hair and gently tugging at it and you not being able to do anything about it for an hour and a half.
LOL! But I"m not complaining because him finally being able to communicate with us is HUGE!
Oh, and school you ask? School? It took a month of tears and snot, lots of snot, and arms up in the air and pleas of desperation for Mama not to leave him. He would have to hold my hand walking down the hall to the classroom and I could tell his anxiety was heightening with every step closer we got to his room... he became clingier and weepier with every step of his teeny tiny turquoise converse. Lots of heartache on my end and just sheer sadness on his end. I would revisit school during the day just to peek in the window to see what he was doing and he'd be eating a Cheez-it with a strand of snot from his nose to his mouth, eyes all puffy and red, and clinging to the teacher saying "Mama, mama, mama, mama". Oh. My. Gosh. Just shoot me. It was killing me. But now... NOW... now he opens the door that leads to the hallway to his classroom and he skips down the hallway, several steps in front of Mama, pointing to the pictures on the wall and talking away. Once we get to the classroom he joins his friends right away playing with whatever is out. I have to literally pry him away from his toys to get a kiss goodbye. I'm SO glad he is liking school, and his class, and his teacher and friends, but COME ON, he doesn't miss me one little bit?!?! LOL!! Not even one single, solitaire tear? Not sure what makes me more sad! LOL! Totally kidding of course. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that he's so happy. It makes me BEAM with pride. Our little man is growing up right before our eyes!
It's unreal.

I LOVE how big your pictures are...hehehe. Seriously I am LOVING the last one of Charlie sleeping. Adorable! Looks like you guys had a blast at the beach!
The story of Adrey and his transition to school was heartbreaking! I'm so glad he's decided it isn't so bad anymore. Both boys are darling and I can't believe how big Charlie already looks. xo
