Yup, you heard right! No more pacifier for our little man and he's doing AWESOME!! I have to say I was a little anxious about eliminating the paci, not because I didn't think Adrey couldn't handle it, but that I couldn't handle it! But, like when you're REALLY committed to a diet and you never cheat, that's the way I feel about the elimination of the pacifier! I am SO motivated for this transition, and just want to see that plastic thing GONE!! Adrey has been SUCH A CHAMP!! We still give it to him for naptime and bedtime but never during awake time. He's had a few meltdowns, but I find that all I have to do is distract him (start counting the rain drops on the sunroof window in the car, point out the birds, count cars, find trucks, etc.) and he quickly forgets about the paci! This is WAY easier than I thought it was going to be!! Our first adventure out of the house pacifier-less was for a 3 mile walk (it was like 50 degrees) and Adrey did AWESOME!! He reached back about 10 times wanting me to hand him his paci, but we would just start chatting about the birds and (no, not the bees) cars and he was fine!! Don't you LOVE his get up? He looks like the little kid, Russell, in the movie UP (which, by the way, if you haven't seen, it's a MUST SEE movie!! Honestly, it rates in my top 5 flicks!! SO CUTE!).
Adrey has a bit of an obsession with our glasses. Any glasses he can get his hands on he puts on his face. 9 out of 10 times, he gets them on right! It's so cute!
This is the 1 out of 10 times where he doesn't get them on quite right!
Last night we had the gang over for dinner and games. John cooked shish-ka-bobs on the grill... yummo! After dinner we settled in for a game of PICTIONARY!! Too much fun!!
Adrey was a BIG help with the drawing board!
John had to draw "8:30 p.m."... this is what he came up with!
Was such a fun night! Love our friends!
