Boating in Bonita

Wow, talk about being on a technological fritz... BOTH of our home computers died last week AND our good camera is in the shop!! Our poor Sony is in Sonyland being fixed. Supposed to get it back this week... can't come soon enough! I feel lost without it! We ended up buying a new computer, an expense we hadn't planned on, but very necessary. I felt anxious knowing I didn't have a computer to hop on to!!
Saturday morning my mom and I did some serious shopping for the PLAYROOM!! We are almost there!! Saturday afternoon I had to work and John stayed home and put together all the shelves we got for the room. I can't wait to show the pictures of the new room... but I want to wait till I've got it just the way I want it. We are oh-so-close to the big reveal!!
This morning we got an early morning call from some friends asking if we wanted to join them on a boat ride! We were on board for that (pun intended) and got our acts together and were OUT THE DOOR by 8:07... Wow... we're good.

Twas Adrey's first time wearing a life jacket! Although it wasn't the cutest life preserver (it belonged to the boat rental company or to "Kent" and Kent just left it on the rental boat! LOL!), and it may have been a tad moldy, he looked as cute as a button in it. It was so bulky and it kept creeping up on his face and smooshing his cheeks, but he survived! Speaking of cheeks... holy cheeks and chin in this picture. LOVE IT.

His cheeks are not sunburned... we had just left the dock, but they sure were rosy!!

OK, the boat was no "Naples Princess", but it got us from point A to point B as intended! There were no built-in seats on the boat, only plastic chairs with the paint chipping off the legs. And the "carpet" was a tad on the nacky side, but we had a ball! Jen called it the "Red Neck Yacht Club"!

Billy is definitely Adrey's BFF. Adrey just adores Billy and Billy is SO good with Adrey. It's so cute to watch the two of them.

We even got to see some dolphins! I never get bored of seeing these creatures. I've lived in Naples for 30 years and every time I see a dolphin (or alligator or manatee) I act as though it's the first one I've ever seen. They're just fascinating to me!

We stopped a few times and threw the anchor to just relax. Adrey enjoyed being life jacketless and free to roam the boat.

Mike fished. The fish were not biting. Mike didn't catch a one:-(

Mike, Billy and Jen.... love you guys!!

Mike even let Adrey drive.

Was a great morning on the boat. Loved seeing my little man with the wind blowing in his hair and the sweat on the back of his neck that makes his hair curl up.

Was meltdown city on our way home, as a nap was well over due. We came home, Adrey had a bath and then took a THREE hour nap!! John and I worked on the playroom. Stay tuned for playroom pics.
