Well, Adrey had his first big injury yesterday:-( Last evening John and I went to dinner with some friends and Adrey was home with our sitter. Adrey has only been with a non-family babysitter a handful of times, but we very much like and trust the sitter we have. All that to say, I got a text during dinner last night asking me to call home when I could. I called home to learn that our sitter opened the oven door to take her pizza out and Adrey PULLED HIMSELF UP on the hot oven door. My heart dropped and I immediately felt sick. She said Adrey was fine at that point but he had, obviously, been in quite a bit of pain and very sad. We got home and Adrey was asleep so I scooped him out of his crib to find 7 of his 8 tiny fingers had big blisters on them. So sad.
He woke up this morning happy as a clam and didn't seem phased by his bubbled fingers:-( But later on this morning, one of the blisters popped and has been painful as Adrey is still crawling. He's compensating by crawling on his wrists and making a fist:-( We took him to the doctor this morning just to be safe and the doctor said that there's nothing we can do. The blisters will eventually pop and heal. Thankfully, they will not leave scars. I imagine as the blisters pop, he'll experience more pain which breaks my heart:-( He's a tough cookie though, he'll be ok:-)
