Fun times...

So, Adrey is, of course, doing new things and making new discoveries daily. On Wednesday he found his lower lip and now he's constantly sucking it in! Sometimes he puffs his cheeks out and sucks his lower lip in and he looks like an old man with no teeth! So funny!

Fortunately this is a face and a part of his personality we see often, so I'll continue to post all the smiley pics... no one can get tired of these, right?!?!?

We've had quite a busy couple weeks in terms of getting Adrey to go to sleep at night. Going on our trip to Maryland/Delaware got Adrey out of his routine and since we've been back going down for the night hasn't been easy for him. Now, instead of being all smiles and happy to go to bed at night, he CRIES his heart out when we put him in the crib. It breaks our hearts. We put him down and he's ok for about 30 seconds and then he just unleashes. He screams and gets all hot and sweaty. We go in and rub his tummy but it doesn't work. The only way we can get him to calm down is to take him out of the crib and cradle him in our arms. He almost immediately falls asleep and then we put him back in the crib and he starts wailing again. Poor babe. I just don't know what to do. My friend, Kara, suggested giving Adrey his bath in the evening (I had been bathing him in the morning), and make the evening routine be.... bath, jammy jam-jams and then a bottle. He was going to bed between 9-10, so we also decided to eliminate the 5:00 cat nap he had been taking so we can put him down earlier. Have you ever tried to keep a tired baby awake? OH.... MY.... GOSH!! It's not easy! I went walking with Joanne on Wednesday night at 6:00 and John's only instructions were to keep Adrey awake! Adrey was playing on his little mat and started to fall asleep. He was so tired but couldn't bring himself to let go of the toy! Check it out!!!
Adrey is adjusting to the new schedule, and he now sleeps from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. He's doing great! The bedtime situation will get better, I know it will. I'm sure it will get better just before we go to Georgia for Thanksgiving and then we'll have to start all over again when we get home!!

Do you remember a few posts ago when I mentioned how awesome it is going in to get Adrey in the morning? He's SO happy! I had to get it on video so everyone could see. I really wish everyone could start their day off with this... The world would be a better place.

OH, if anyone is wondering if you drop a dozen eggs on your kitchen floor if A.) the dogs will lick it B.) you will slip and fall C.) you will temporarily be in a really crummy mood... the answer to all three is YES.

Leah,

I think the picture of Adrey biting his lip is hysterical. Does it get chapped?
