Our last full day in Mexico! We spent on the beach and by the pool yet again. This picture was taken about 2 minutes before Adrey took a solo ride in the elevator. As we were getting off the elevator, Adrey had to adjust his shoe. When I turned around the doors were closing and he was still inside. AH! I saw that the elevator went down to the ground level (one floor lower) so I called the elevator back up and hopped on and went down. I was surprisingly calm (unlike the pool incidence with Charlie). Thirty seconds later, on the ground level, there Adrey was, standing with two Mexican resort employees, with tears streaming down his face. He was only away from us for 30 seconds, but he was so scared. Bless his little heart! I scooped him up and gave him the biggest bear hug ever and told him he was safe. We had a good heart to heart and talked about what to do if it ever happens again. And he talked about getting lost on the elevator the rest of the day!!
There was a couple sitting on the couch in the lobby that witnessed the whole thing. That same couple witnessed the Charlie mishap at the pool. I felt like a stellar mom. Awesome. I went up to the lady and told her that I promise we were good parents. She laughed and said, "Honey, I raised THREE boys, I promise I've been there!". I, of course, beat myself up about both events. But it wasn't like we weren't paying attention, or being careless. These things just happen so quickly! And it's always a learning experience for us all. It's the "what ifs" that go through my brain after things like this happen that's almost paralyzing.
I couldn't decide which to post so I'm posting them all...
Boys went to the Kids Club again and got their faces painted! And everyone at the pool, whether we knew them or not, made such a big deal about it! They felt so proud!!
It took the cute girl that did their make up about 20 minutes each to apply it, and within 5 minutes of being in the pool it was gone!
Our last night in Mexico we spent eating FRESH fish caught THAT day by some friends we met. It was DIVINE! The last day was the only day Charlie didn't nap. He was fast asleep in my arms before we were even finished eating.
Bwess his sweepy wittle heart....
I am so excited to make this a family tradition in Mexico. It was such good, quality time with no distractions (TV, phones, etc.). We've already made plans for next year!!
