Field Day 2013

The boys' school had Field Day yesterday followed by a family picnic.  I took the day off from work to watch them!  Field Day, for me growing up, was one of my favorite days of the whole year... hurdles (tire jumping) was my favorite event.  And if memory serves me right, I believe I took home a couple blue ribbons!  Apparently, Field Day in Pre-K, is not quite the same thing!!  Field Day consisted of....

A ride around the parking lot in an old-fashioned fire truck
(And I'm pretty sure the driver did NOT have a driver's license.  We must have been going 30 mph in the parking lot weaving around parked cars and speed bumps.  When I went with Charlie I was holding on to him for dear life... of course the kids loved every second of it!)

(Adrey is on the left side of the picture by the windshield)

And laps around the parking lot on their bikes

(poor Charlie ran into a tree while playing on Saturday night and has a boo boo!)

He was the fastest little guy for sure!

I love Charlie's friend Ray-Ray (second from right).
He's all like, "C'MON, can we get the show on the road folks?"

Such a wittle MUNCHKIN!

A karate instructor came and showed the kids some "moves"

Snow Cones

And then they all headed back to the classroom before the family picnic.  All the kids raced to their "letter" on the rug.  Adrey was the first one there with his finger over his lips and his "peace sign".  Such a good boy!  He got TWO m&m's from Ms. Alecia for his good behavior!

Afterwards there was a family picnic in the lawn.  The boys really didn't eat, rather they raced around with their friends in the big lawn!  On our way to the car, Charlie decided to ignore me and go a different direction (near the parking lot, which terrifies me).  I kept telling him to come with me and he just kept walking (so frustrating).  I ran over and picked him up and carried him to the car.  On the way to the car I told him that he was being naughty by not listening and that I told him to come with me because parking lots are dangerous.  Charlie is ALL ABOUT being a "good boy" these days.  He looked at me and said, "But I'm still a good boy?"  I didn't say anything.  He said louder, "Mommy, I'm still a good boy?".  And I said, "Charlie, not when you don't listen."  A couple minutes went by in the car and it was quiet.  All of a sudden Charlie said, "Mommy, say I love you."  So I told him I loved him.  And he said, "Too" as he always does.  He just needed a little reminder that I still loved him.  Bless his wittle heart.

And Adrey this morning on the way to school, told me that he wished he was a dog so that he could hang his head out the window in the car.  I told him that dogs poop in the grass and lick their butts and eat dog food.  He was quiet.  It wasn't until I said that dogs can't eat M&M's that he decided being a dog wasn't for him!  Just a little concerning that the butt part didn't seem to bother him, only the lack of M&M's!!  SO FREAKING ADORABLE!!

LOVE MY BOYS!!
