Thanksgiving Week - A visit from the Sherwoods

What?  Thanksgiving was a month ago?  I had no idea?  So I might be behind in my posting, but I have THREE posts in the "que" so I'm hoping to have a few back-to-back blog posts to make up for the lack of posts!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  My cousin, Jeff, and his beautiful family were in town and they STAYED WITH US!!  It was the most fun!  Piper and Jeff have two kiddos... Oliver (6) and Delilah (4).

We swam...

We went to the Children's Museum...

Oliver and Adrey were best of buds the entire time!!  And Delilah was a bit of a mama bear with Charlie which was too cute!

There were some seriously silly moments with the four of them!  The played together beautifully... kinda makes me wanna have two more kids:-)

On Thanksgiving Day, we've made it a tradition to attend the "Gobble Gobble Four Miler Turkey Trot" which benefits the St. Matthew's House here in town.  We wake up bright and early, pack some snacks and milk and make our way to the "race".

After the race Adrey had a complete meltdown for no reason AT ALL.  All of a sudden nothing in the world was right and broke down in a fit.  I told him we were having a family photo and for him to come join us.  I asked him three times, and he would not join us:-(

And of course, as soon as the moment was over, he wanted to get in the family photo.  But the moment was over and we had to teach him a little life lesson about making choices.   But I suggested we pose in a different picture, just me and the boys.  He was trying so hard to smile but he was so sad!

Thanksgiving Day the whole crew came to our house.  There were 18 people total (including the short people!).

Delilah and Piper

It was a fun day for sure.  I love my family so much and had SO much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving Day (and always).

Nana got to "meet" her newest great grand baby, Xenia, via Skype too.  This photo is incredible to me.  Technology allows for so many wonderful opportunities for people.

The kids swam... our electric bill was exceptionally high last month to cover the cost of heating the pool!  But it was worth every penny!

Delilah is a piece of work.  CUTE AS A BUTTON!  She has the spunkiest personality and the cutest voice I think I have ever heard!!  She keeps Jeff and Piper on their toes for sure!!  I see some challenging years for them when she's a teenager!  HA!!

My business partner and friend, Amy, and her husband Steve joined us for Thanksgiving.  They are so much fun to be around!

The morning after...

The next day Jeff, Piper, John and the kids (I had to work) went on an air boat ride in the Everglades!  They had a blast!!

And the last night they were here we headed to Venetian Village where there was live music, Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause.  Mrs. Claus read stories to the kids...

We had so much fun that week.  I've learned that I thrive on a little chaos.  I love the activity in our home.  The more the merrier I just love having the people I love around me.  I love seeing all the little people playing and enjoying themselves at our home.  I hope so badly that when the kids are older that it'll be OUR house that they want to have their friends come over to and play.  Hopefully we'll be "cool enough" for that.  Speaking of that, we went to the Christmas Parade last night and I was singing Christmas carols (loudly apparently) and my niece blurted out, "OK, stop!"... so maybe I WON'T be cool enough!  LOL!
