This post is a whole lotta this and that. Stories and events that I've been meaning to blog about but haven't yet. So a whole lotta randomness and jumping around but a whole lotta really good make-you-feel-good goodness.
I've received a couple calls, ok THREE calls, from the school that Adrey and his "friends" have been pulling their pants down during recess and mooning their friends. (Awesome). The first time I was called, I was listening as the director of the pre-school was telling me this and when she was done, I couldn't help myself and I started laughing hysterically. I don't know what came over me, although completely inappropriate, I found it completely amusing and I couldn't stop myself. And then the director started laughing and we were both in stitches. After I collected myself, I told her I'd go home and we'd have a "talk" with Adrey. Which we did. Well, about a week and a half later, I got another call that he did it again. SO, we had ANOTHER talk. Third time's a charm, right? Well, I got the third call and then Adrey lost his Spider Man shoes for a week. He knows better than to do that and his Spider Man shoes are the highlight of his life right now, so when I took them away, he knew we meant business and he was NOT happy. Anyhoo, so needless to say, we are constantly reminding Adrey NOT to pull down his pants. I never thought that I'd be telling my kid, on the way to school, not to pull down his pants in front of his friends but I am!! So last week we were headed to school and discussing what NOT to do at school. Click HERE to hear what Adrey should NOT do at school! I promise I have watched this video 500 times. And every time I laugh like it was the first time I've seen it. It's like a drug it's so addictive!!
Just playing a little catch up for the last two weeks!! June 6th was the kids official last day of school. Sarah and I decided to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese in Fort Myers for a little end of year celebration. I don't care who you are, Chuck E. Cheese is FUN. The kids run around the joint, almost in a panic, to be sure they use every last token and accumulate as many tickets as possible so they can stock up on the plastic toys that break in the car before you even make it home!! Have I mentioned lately that Charlie LOVES his big brother and wants to be JUST like him? It's the cutest thing to witness... you can see for yourself HERE.
June 9th the "Fab 5" (a little nickname we've given ourselves) decided to hit the road for a girls weekend. We'd been planning it for months and it finally came! We headed to Marco Island and stayed at the Marco Ocean Resort. We did a whole lotta nothing which was just what we all needed!
I have so many things in life to be thankful for and my friends are one of them. I wish everyone could have the friendship and bond that I have with these girls. Love you guys to pieces.
This summer on the days I'm not working I'm watching KK and Allison and the boys are having a BLAST with them. The girls are SO good and the boys LOVE playing with them. Each day the girls come over with bags of stuffed animal goodness.
We've been swimming.
We've watched movies.
We've been tremendously freaking adorable...
And guess what else we've done....
Yup... we've been bowling!
Charlie bowled about 3 frames and then ate the rest of the time!!
We've been to the playground.
I've discovered a new app for my iPhone that makes picture collages and I'M OBSESSED!!
Check it out!
We've also been to the water park. We spent 4.5 hours there on Friday and 3 hours on Sunday! The kids love that place! And ya wanna know just how brave our little A-man is? If so, click HERE. Charlie loves the water park too. He might not be jumping off the diving board, but he does a whole lotta THIS.
We went out to eat last week at one of our favorite restaurants in town. John and I LOVE their Prickly Pear Martinis and we always ask for a sugar rimmed glass instead of a salt rim. We're starting to rethink that decision... click HERE to see why!!
Charlie is doing a whole lot of talking lately... are attempts to talk! He says Mommy, daddy, Adrey (although it sounds more like a breathy "A-jhee), Sarah or "RaRa", Boppa, Gigi, Nana, apple, banana or "nana"... the list goes on and we're so proud because he's trying so hard!! Click HERE to see him in action!
A couple months ago I went grocery shopping with the boys. Publix always gives out free cookies and balloons to the kiddos. As we were walking out to the car, I told the boys they had to hold on to their balloons very tightly or they'd fly away and we wouldn't be able to get them. Well, Adrey accidentally let it go and it was gone. Adrey started crying so hard... I felt so bad for him. He was DEVASTATED as his balloon was getting smaller and smaller. Oh my gosh he was so sad. So I told him the balloon was going to Heaven and that when it reached Cheetoe and Grandpa Orville it was going to make them so happy. I told him that Cheetoe and Grandpa Orville would be so happy that HE sent it. Oh, that then made ME sad! Well, I tell that 2 month old story to preface this next story. Last week on our way to my softball game we're in the car and out of nowhere Adrey said, "God is in Heaven". And I said, "Yes, He is. And who else is in Heaven?" And Adrey said without hesitation, "My Balloon. And Cheetoe and Grandpa Orville." BE. STILL. MY. HEART.
A couple weeks ago we went to Mercato (a really nice outdoor shopping plaza) because there was a band performing on the lawn. After dinner the kids were running around playing and thoroughly enjoying themselves. There was a teenage girl there that brought a bunch of hula hoops for people to enjoy. Adrey got his hands on one and twirled away... kid's got some serious hip action and is actually really good at it!! I told him we'd have to get him one of his own. A week later, Adrey and I were laying in bed watching TV.
He looked up and said, "Mommy, you need to get me one of those turnie things."
I said, "I'm not sure what you mean. What's a turnie thing?"
He said, "Not a turnie. That's not what it's called. What's it called?"
I said, "Honey, I'm not sure what you mean."
I said, "Honey, I'm not sure what you mean."
He said, "Ya know, one of those things?" (as he's making a circular motion with his hips) and then the light bulb turns on and he says, "A hoolie hoop. Yeah, a hoolie hoop. You need to get me one of those things!"
The things that come out of his mouth make me smile ALL THE TIME!!
This next picture melts my heart and I really feel it captures the personalities of our boys so well. Charlie is our charmer. He's extremely happy all the time and admires his big brother with every ounce of his little being. He knows he's cute and he plays that card all the time! He's a pleaser, for sure.
Adrey is our almost-four-year-old goofball that spends 80% of his days laughing and making Charlie laugh. He's constantly saying funny and goofy things. Goofyness aside, he'll, out of the blue tell me he loves me or says that I look beautiful.
We have lucked out in the kid department. I feel blessed and honored to be the mommy to these beautiful boys or ours. They are my heart.
I love you Charlie and Adrey.
