We've been spending a lot of time with our friends lately! Work is slowing down a bit and that means more fun times are in store for us. We decided, very last minute, to meet some friends in "South Ft. Myers" at a kind of hole-in-the-wall outdoor restaurant for a late lunch last weekend. Our GPS took us right to the Lani Kai on Ft. Myers Beach. I felt a little bit queasy when we pulled in because the Lani Kai is not a place for kids... rather it's meant for 22 year olds intended to get wasted and leave with less clothes on then they arrived with. I quickly texted Stephanie to find out if that's where we were supposed to be. She quickly replied with a "NO!!! LOL!". So I called her to figure out where we were supposed to be and it turns out we went about 20 minutes too far north... we had already passed it. Lovely. By this time Charlie was getting restless as we were gearing into the hour when he usually naps, and Adrey was hungry. But we got there and everyone was happy once we were there. Adrey immediately buddied up with his friend Skye... they had a ball together!
And Mama sat on the sidelines and drank her "bucket of fun" as it's called on the menu!
Our poor Charlie got bit by something last week. Adrey and Charlie were playing on the back porch and Adrey came running in saying, "Charlie has something on his face!" and sure enough, just under his left eye was a bug that John swatted off. He went to bed and it looked fine, when he woke up it looked a little swollen, but it looked like THIS by the time I picked him up from school....
And THIS by the time he went to bed that night...
My poor bear cub! It didn't seem to bother him in the least and it wasn't sore or tender, but it looked so terrible! I felt so sorry for him! It went away completely within three days, but was so bizarre!!
We found the most PERFECT bird's nest in our backyard. I just love this. Probably not sanitary to keep, but I can't seem to get rid of it quite yet. It's pretty unbelievable a creature could make such a perfect home. It's like a piece of art. Love it.
And talk about perfect... this rainbow is the most perfect rainbow I have ever seen. It was a complete rainbow with the most brilliant of colors. I was in awe when we saw this. Pretty cool. Nature is pretty awesome.
And a double rainbow was starting to form also.
We've had fun playing with food at restaurants too...
Mr. Fajita Face...
And Saturday night we hung out at the Wayne's house and ate/drank and watched Young Frankenstein. The kids WERE playing outside and then came in and got sucked into watching it. I think Adrey (and KK too) were a little frightened... so they were sure to stay close to each other!
Lots more fun pictures to post! Had a gathering on Sunday with 9 kiddos in attendance. Lots of cute pics to come!
