Thanksgiving 2011

We were up with the chickens, I mean turkeys, on Thanksgiving Day.  I think this is the 5th year we've done the Turkey Trot (4 mile run/walk to benefit St. Matthew's House).  We were out the door by 6:40.  Our turkey were in attendance, of course.

The boys were SO GOOD in the double stroller.  They were stocked with warm milk, cheerios and cereal bars so they were good to go!  I think they enjoyed the "turkey watching".  There were A LOT of people with head gear this year.  I don't take credit where credit is not due, but 3 years ago John and I wore our turkey hats and not ONE OTHER PERSON was wearing a festive hat like us.  The second year there were a couple other brave souls and then this year there was head gear galore... we totally started it.  I think we will go down in Turkey Trot history fo' sho'.

John ran the whole race.  Sarah and I, together, ran the first two miles and walked the second two miles all the while pushing the 70 pound stroller (not even kidding... that's what it weighed)!  About the last mile of the race I was pushing the stroller on my own.  Sarah asked me if she could help and I said "No, because I want to be able to have seconds on dessert."  So then after the race Sarah totally one-upped me and pushed all THREE kids OVER THE BRIDGE.  Whatever.  :-)

We headed over to my parents about 1:00 and spent the rest of the day there.  I got some pictures of the kids climbing the tree out back.

Adrey loves him some KK.

Gigi asked everyone to get ready to say grace.  I LOVE this picture....

Dad built a cornhole game so after our bellies were full we headed out back for some cornhole!

This next picture is creepy.  And somewhat disturbing.

I have SUCH a beautiful Mama.

Was such a great Thanksgiving.  I am so blessed with my beautiful boys and amazing husband.  I have the most wonderful family.  Life gets hectic and crazy and overwhelming but I will always have them and for that I am truly grateful.  I love you Ritchey boys.  With every ounce of my being.  To the moon and back.

And I'll leave you with this...

Bet you have a smile on your face now, don't ya?
