A good thing gone bad...

Daddy got a new chair for the office and Adrey is quite smitten with it. I guess it's the fact that it's new. He loves to climb on the ottoman, do a nose dive into the chair, and then turn himself around to where he's sitting in the chair properly, like an old man watching the tube. And he knows he's cute doing it because he has a smile on his face the whole darn time.

And he gets very relaxed...

This little photo shoot was going very nicely until two seconds after I took this next picture.

Adrey fell backwards off the arm of the chair and landed right on his head. I was literally 3 feet from him and couldn't catch him. I dropped the camera and scooped up my hysterically crying baby. My heart was racing. He cried so hard he wasn't making any noise. I was beside myself. I could see blood in his mouth... come to find out he bit his tongue. He was calm within 45 seconds. We sat down and turned on Blue's Clues and he quietly sat on my lap rubbing ducky's tag between his fingers, as if he never even fell. It was then that I fell apart. I was sobbing. I felt so horrible that happened. That I didn't catch him. I realize accidents happen but to see him so sad and to think it could have been prevented made me so mad at myself. I love my little guy more than life itself and to see him hurt and sad just breaks my heart.

Hopefully he'll forgive his Mama:-)

Moral of the story: No more photo shoots on chairs
