Where in the world does time go? I mean, this hat used to fit Adrey perfectly?!?!! :-)
We had a very special visitor last weekend and it was the kind of weekend we kept wishing wouldn't end because there was such good, happy, energy about it. Aunt Judee came to visit for the weekend and it was a jam-packed, fun-filled weekend! Thursday night, St. Patrick's Day, we headed down to Marco to see Uncle Kerry's band play. We danced. We ate. We drank. We played in fountains and got soaking wet (well, Adrey did)! And Charlie was a big hit with his Leprechan hat (taken from cell phone so poor quality)....
And after a fun-filled evening, we came home and cuddled! (notice Adrey and his ducky... that tag is starting to dwindle away he rubs it so much! love it!)
Friday John, Aunt Judee and the boys bonded over some lunch at Tommy Bahama's and then did some shopping (I had to work). Friday night Gigi, Boppa, Nana and Stacia came over for dinner.
Nana and Boppa read Adrey some books. Melt. My. Heart.
And Charlie was just happy to be there...
And we built towers. Oh, did we build towers. That seems to be all we do lately. We build with blocks. We build with legos. We build with peanut butter and Nutella jars. We build with sponges, iPhones, picture frames, Triscuit boxes... pretty much anything that's not round we'll stack! And having NEW company to build with? Priceless.
It's amazing how nicely a shamrock tattoo will stay on your face when you don't bathe for a couple days :-) He loved looking at himself in the mirror when it was on his face... He'd tilt his head to the side and a little down and raise his eyebrows... cutest thing ever.
This happened a lot over the course of the weekend. Adrey LOVES Aunt Judee. And to hear him say "Judee" the way he so purposefully pronounces the "d". Oh, my.
I had the weekend off from work which was so great! Saturday we "slept in" (6:45 instead of 6:30) and we had a nice leisurely breakfast, followed by a bike ride to the park and back. Adrey is quite good at riding his tricycle now and he wants to do it everytime we step outside. Then we hit the mall to get Adrey a haircut. I didn't have high hopes that it would go well, as Adrey HATES getting his hair cut, but "Liz" at Regis, has THE touch and not one. single. tear. was shed!! He did so great and his hair is so cute!! Then off for some lunch and back home for some afternoon lounging!
Aunt Judee and Adrey did a lot of bonding on the back patio. It was so cute, Adrey would open the slider door, sit on the chair and call for Judee to "come outside with some warm milk"!!
For some reason when there's guests in town, there's a "no pacifier" rule. Not sure how that happens:-)
This is the first of 3 "Judee" posts I'll be posting. Stay tuned for lots more fun to come...
