Bellybuttons, Baths and Barf...

My, lots of updates!! We'll start with the BELLYBUTTON first... Last week at Adrey's one month pediatrician's appointment the doctor said that if his umbilical stump hadn't fallen off by Tuesday for us to come back and they'd remove it. Soooooooo, Tuesday came and the stinkin' stump was still there!! I called and made an appointment. The doctor assessed the situation and said it was SO stuck on it would have to be surgically removed!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I had to call Dr. Titus, the same surgeon that operated on his Pyloric Stenosis, to schedule an appointment. We managed to get in to see him yesterday. I got there thinking the appointment would just be to take a looksie and then schedule to have the procedure. Well, I walked in the room and saw they had all the surgical tools and stuff right there ready to rock-n-roll!! Yay! We were going home with a bellybutton! I was so excited! The procedure took only 15 minutes or so. They numbed the area and clipped off the stump. I did not stay in the room so I don't really know the details!! All I know is that Adrey has a bellybutton!! So exciting! As soon as it's healed, I will take a picture and have a "Bellybutton Premier" on the blog, so be sure to stay tuned:-)

Now we'll go on to the BATH... Adrey had his very first bath at 6 weeks old!! I gave him sponge baths daily up until now, but nothing compares to a real bath!! He was very content and comfortable in the warm water... until... I washed his hair and then he was beside himself! He was none to happy with me! Below is a picture of him in the tub. This is a family program so I've censored his pee-pee:-) Oh, and I totally used the tub wrong. It felt really awkward while I was doing it because I had to hold his head (so I thought), but I thought it was just because our sink was too small which made the tub tilt forward. Welllll, turns out I should have filled the tub and put it on the counter that way he could lay back. I yi yi!

Last but not least... our BARF story. I am so glad there is a word for vomit that starts with a B:-) So, I was reading Adrey a book and rocking him. John came in and decided to video record me. I never would have posted this boring video on the blog if there wasn't a twist. As soon as I got done reading the book, Cheetoe (our dog) came up right next to me and "barfed"!! It made a loud, gross, barf noise! She couldn't have timed it better. John and I were laughing hysterically. So, below is the video clip if you so choose to watch!!

Oh Leah... You make me weep with joy. All children should be as blessed as Adrey with parents like you and John. I love you guys.
With love from Adrey's Great Aunt Sue.
